Let the games begin.........

I have begun training Vadim to go to bed in his own bed. Anyone who knows me knows I prefer not to do this. I think I need to get him out of my bed before the new baby comes. He is not into sharing me so this should be interesting. Laryssa didn't like to share either but she was more interested in taking Zara away from me than being jealous of her. I regress. Vadim has slept in his own bed for six nights now. Two nights stayed all night, two nights fell asleep on his own and last night the battle began. I lost count of the amount of times he got out of bed but at last after just under an hour of putting him back in bed he went to sleep. Being crazy and all I decided he should nap in bed too. Silly, silly girl! I persevered and in just under an hour and a lot of cussing on his part he is napping. The dishwasher is unloaded/reloaded, the laundry is folded and almost all put away and the kitchen is clean. Wish me luck with the rest of the training. Time to wake him so he will go to bed at reasonable hour tonight. For the record 11:00 pm is not reasonable. I am shooting for 9:00 tonight. Wait a minute who's training who here. LOL

Ruby Slippers Clicking

There is no place like home! We came home a little early from our trip to Arizona. It was nice to see everyone, but I couldn't control the pressing need to go home. Sleeping in my own bed felt so wonderful. We brought in the new year with annual crab feast with fresh crab from Bodega Bay we were lucky to get. Victor and I were so sleepy we went to bed and woke just before midnight. All four of the girls were awake and ready to party. Sasha being the major ringleader (she is a natural night owl so staying up is easy for her), they blew confetti poppers and noise makers and had a hey day with silly string. This was allowed as long as they stayed away from Daddy's cars. We had a lazy sleep in morning, watching the Rose parade with Big Sister Libby riding on a float and watching USC play football. All in all happy to be home and very comfortable in my ruby slippers.

Christmas in the Desert

I got my Christmas wish I ask for every year.
Growing up in the desert I always wanted snow, when I realized i wasn't going to get snow I started asking for rain and I got rain this year. Of course we are away from home and it is snowing there. I hear.... Go figure. The kids all were happy with their gifts.
Sasha got a mini claw machine, Laryssa a very girlie version of Monopoly, Zara some moon sand, Anastasia Sponge bob LIFE and Vadim got a truck. It was a great day but with too many people all of them family. "Fourty counted in all..... I caramba!

Over the Grapevine and Through the Desert

To Grandmother's house we go....... I pray the weather cooperates enough so we can get there. We are looking forward to getting there. I am not looking forward to the road trip. It will be worth the wait.

Why is it when I have so much to do to get ready I suddenly have the desire to bake. I haven't made anything from scratch (baking wise) in some time, other than cakes. I made banana bread with the kids and the blender went beserk and I got some banana on the ceiling. It was cool, but messy. The kids put together and destroyed a gingerbread house. They had fun doing it. The car is packed. Tomorrow we finish cleaning the house and Tuesday we are off. Please pray for our safe arrival.

Life Is Beautiful

We had our ultrasound today. The baby was a little shy of having it's picture taken. It kept covering its face with it's hands. Everything looks good.

Who knew, you can excericse too much!

I have been having a hey day with this diabetes diet. I am eating for the most part everything I am supposed to, my sugars are pretty good most of the time and I have been exericizing. I have lost ten pounds since the beginning of my pregnancy. My diatition and ob are thrilled, my husband isn't unhappy either. I was doing the treadmill and walking on Saturday and lo and behold it was too much. I had to lay in bed most of the rest of the day and it didn't feel very good at all. My belly and back were aching. So I guess i have to settle down and remember I am trying to keep my blood sugars down and not diet.

One Flu over the cuckoo's nest

We as a family are just recovering from a fun little case of the flu that swept thru our house like Sherman on Atlanta. I was truly checking the skies for the locust invasion. After a week of strep throat followed by the Halloween flu I was getting a little worn down. However, I can report I feel wonderful today. Lots of energy and feeling good. Almost went to the cuckoo's nest but missed it.
